Thanksgiving in Alabama

Our Thanksgiving Holiday has been spent with the Anderson's in Alabama for the last several years.  It is a nice tradition to spend the weekend with Tim's family.  It is also so wonderful for the boys to spend quality time with their cousins (there are just so many on Tim's side of the family).  A few photos:

The guys always partake in a vigorous game of football pre or post turkey indulgences.  This one is starting extra early.

Dustin and Angel on the slide.  Angel is Dustin's "favorite" cousin.  He still wants to be wrapped in a towel like Angel after every bath (still not sure where this request came from).

Angel posing.

What a catch!

Halloween

This year, Dustin dressed up as a police officer for Halloween.  This was the costume that he choose (after we persuaded him that sponge Bob is just not at all cool).  Jackson wore the Spiderman costume.  As you can see--Mommy dressed up as a prisoner.  Daddy wore the same costume.  Ironically, sometimes Mommy and Daddy really feel like Dustin's prisoners (ha!).

We're still here

We've been a bit absentee on the blog of late.

Just a little glimpse into our crazy lives over the last several months:

--Had opportunity to relocate to Louisville.

--Accepted opportunity to relocate to Louisville.

--Got house ready for the market.

--Put house on the market.

--Sold house in 7 weeks.

--Moved to Louisville.

--Remained employed with the same companies.

--Tim began working from home.

--Kelly began working from a new office.

--Kelly and Tim go to Boston for a week for educational opportunities.

--Dustin started pre-school at a new (to him) school.

--Jackson started going to a new (to him) daycare without his big bro.

--The Andersons find a great new church in Louisville.

--Traveled on the weekends to see family, visit children's museum, etc.

--Dustin turned 3.

That covers most of the "major" topics, with the exception that we have also started weight-watchers.  Actually, we've been relatively faithful for over a month.  And, we have weight loss to show for it!

I realize that I have lots of catching up to do.  In the meantime, a few pics from our first family vacation to the beach (back in May):

Dustin's Third Birthday

Since we had just relocated to Louisville, we had a very small celebration for Dustin's third Birthday.  He was very fortunate to have his grandma Riggs in town who was hanging out with Dustin for the week before he started school.

Mickey Mouse landed his plane right smack in the middle of Dustin's birthday cake.

Dustin opened lots of fun presents.

Super exciting!

Dustin got a new sand box with a bunch of toys for his birthday!

Jackson enjoyed the water pirate ship!

Welcome Spring

This past fall, Tim planted lots and lots of spring flower bulbs.  The last week and a half, they have bloomed and are absolutely beautiful.  Here are a few early shots.

Jackson in front of the bright red tulips.  These are now shadowed by bigger yellow tulips--more photos to come!

Some yellow tulips line our drive.  This photo does not do it justice--they line the side of the house on the drive from the top/front of the house to the bottom/back of the house.  They are stunning!

The Walker--Number 2

On March 18th our baby took his very first steps...many days later, I captured it on video!

Relaxed...

 And, more formal!

ONE

One last hurrah with the candle!

Oh, candle...how I will miss you so.

But, I'm so happy that I am one!  And now, it's time to let you go.

I've hunted you down, chewed on you and had so much fun.

But now, it's time to put you behind me...for I am ONE!

A Seussical Celebration

Today you are you!
That is truer than true!
There is no one alive
who is you-er than you!

Dr. Seuss (Happy Birthday to You)

Someone just turned one,
Oh how we celebrated and had such fun.

The birthday boy, was cuter than cute,
dressed in more than just his birthday suit.

A few rhymes how they hung,
a reminder to some of the childhood songs that were once sung.

An amazing cake,
that was also yummy, for goodness sake!

Just a few of the details on the cake
that was ate...
A fish in the bowl,
from the Cat in the Hat.

His brother was there,
to show that yes, he does really care!

A smaller treat,
just for you to eat!

A kite and a ball,
many details, all in all.

A brother who wore red,
a shirt with 'Dr. Seuss', it said!

Foods inspired by the books,
oh, the rhymes, that deserved second looks!

("Sneetches Treats"--M&Ms)

A few gold fish,
in a clear colored dish!

(One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish...)

A table with sweets,
and other nice treats!

And what's a party without a little green eggs and ham,
Oh, how I liked them, I am surely quite a fan!

That cake and the first bite,
it sure was a good sight!

A few signs for the birthday boy,
we were definitely not coy!

The Pink Ink Drink,
that was so gross it went down the sink!

Green eggs they were served,
in a bowl that was curved.

The table of sweets....
brought many friends to eat, eat, eat!

A banner was hung,
with photos from 12 months strung.

Oh what a treat to have shown,
just how much you have grown!

You tried the cake,
but not a fuss did you make.

For what excitement for you,
when you opened a package or two!

The presents were fun,
all for you, my sweet son!

Happy First Birthday to you, my Dearest Jackson!!
